One fan said, "They were friends for years. The novel is being met with criticism from fans of Girls' Generation as one fan said, "Why is she being vocal after so long? This is fishy."Īnother fan said, "Ah s**t here we go again this girl will never get over this and keep telling stories which she doesn't have to be legally responsible for since this is a novel." One more fan said, "I rlly used to be ot9 but this whole situation with her and her stupid f**king books … she knows damn well how ppl are and that people would take everything seriously and literally and snsd were gonna get the s**t end of the stick. The story also highlights situations unique to the entertainment industry, from conspiracies, and plotting by agencies, to jealousy and betrayal from her own group members as Rachel struggles with emotion she endures in secret. In the new book, the main character Rachel has a new dream as she finds love, friendship, and growth as an artist after making her debut in a top girl group. Jessica Jung: Former Girls Generation member hit by $6.8M lawsuit over unpaid loanĭid Jessica Jung bad-mouth Girls' Generation? SNSD fans clash as ex-member Jessica Jung's fictional novel 'Bright' seems too in touch with reality Jessica's second novel was released on July 28 and fans were finally able to read the entire book, which is raising a lot more questions about the proximity of her story to the real-life incidents and some fans are calling her out for bad-mouthing Girls' Generation members. Ever since it was announced that Jessica was going to release her second novel, ' Bright', a sequel to her 2020 debut book 'Shine', she has been met with criticism for trying to manipulate the time she spent as a member of Girls' Generation.īack in May, before the novel was released, fans of Jessica posted excerpts from her second novel, 'Bright' which narrated the story of Rachel and how jealousy among members of her fictional girl group, 'Girls Forever' caused Rachel to give up on her dream of becoming a K-pop idol. The novels have a disclaimer about the "fictional" nature of the characters and incidents portrayed but its connection to reality is what has Sones (fans of SNSD) raging at the former member. She was never the most popular, but she was up there.Girls' Generation, also known as SNSD, has trouble brewing as their former member, Jessica Jung, releases one novel after another. She was the first member choosed to be in the group, so obviously she was never a filler. It wasn’t the biggest hit losing her, but I think it’s obvious for most things weren’t the same laterĮDIT: my bias aside, Jessica still played a huge part in SNSD. And Jessica had her fair amount of fans internationally (idk about SK). In most groups, if a member leaves, a lot of solo stans or hardcore otx stans will leave. If they lost Taeyeon or Yoona, I think that would be the biggest hit personally when it comes to popularity.īut I do think SNSD lost a sizeable chunk of popularity after Jessica, or at least the decline happened faster. Jessica was my bias and she did play a very big part in SNSD’s success, I would say she definitely was one of the more popular members, but I think the group did to some degree work without her (not for me personally, her voice and Sunny’s really add that SNSD magic to me, but I’m speaking in general).
